High Speed Door With New SafePass Configurations

The LED traffic signals for ASSA ABLOY doors are now easier to order & install.

In 2017, Albany Enterance System introduced SafePass for high speed door to reduce collisions between forklifts, people and doors. LED light strips, mounted next to a high speed door, helped direct traffic by providing individually programmed signals. We make it easy to order SafePass for new and existing doors by adding four custom configurations.

Three of these configurations provide road users with an intuitive color palette: traffic information: red to stop traffic and green to allow traffic through the door. A yellow light can be programmed to alert drivers when the door is closed.
One of the configurations works in conjunction with occupancy sensors to warn a forklift driver of an obstacle on the other side of the door. This can help to overcome blind spots in an installation and reduce the frequency of injuries and damage to inventory.

These four configurations have been developed based on the most common implementations since the release of SafePass. Customer-specific programming and the integration of other recognition devices can always be performed if necessary. However, these standard configurations must cover most requirements for occupied doors.

SafePass is an LED strip housed in an aluminum frame with lens and mounting brackets. The controller is mounted in the control box and programmed to work with the sensors installed according to the selected configuration.

More information can be found on the SafePass page.
